In 1909, three gentlemen: Colonel Granville Duff, John Delmar Morgan and his brother-in-law, Commander Oliver Locker-Lampson established a company known as Duff Morgan & Vermont. The name remains to this day, although the company trades under the abbreviated ‘Duff Morgan’.
Our partnership with Citroën began in 1984 when we began to sell their cars from a premises on Earlham Road. In 2002 we moved to our present location at Whiffler Road. Since then, we have built up a reputation as one the UK’s foremost Citroën dealerships, operating in Norwich.
The company had premises in London’s Piccadilly and Norwich. During World War I, Winston Churchill commissioned Duff Morgan to create armoured war vehicles for the Admiralty. These were drafted and manufactured in Piccadilly. At the same time, the company was designing and building cars for the civilian population of Norfolk.
After the end of World War I, Duff Morgan ceased trading in London and focused instead on serving customers purely in Norwich.
Between the wars, the company marketed and sold a wide variety of vehicles that included Ford’s first mass-produced car, the Model T, as well as marques such as Peugeot and Opel. And following the end of World War II, the company was Standard-Triumph’s sole distributor in Norwich and most of the county. It was during this time that Duff Morgan, terminated franchises it held with Rover Triumph and Land Rover to concentrate on a partnership with Citroën that lasts to this day.
At Duff Morgan we strive to operate with our motto in mind: “Committed to exceeding expectations.” It is this adage that has enabled the company to evolve since its beginnings in 1909, right up to the present day. We now proudly fly the flag for Citroën, SEAT and also CUPRA, offering expert servicing, parts and accessories for all make and model cars.
